CHRISTUS Spohn Health System, South Texas’ largest charity care provider and a six-campus health system, needed to improve the quality of coded data to support reimbursement, public reporting, and clinical decision-making across its hospitals. Ciox Health implemented baseline audits, customized post-audit education, ongoing topic-specific reviews, and focused compliance checks on “hot topic” reimbursement areas. As a result, CHRISTUS Spohn improved overall data quality by 8%, from 89% to 97%, increased revenue capture by millions of dollars, and saw better coder satisfaction and skill.
