Playtech is a family-run New Zealand electronics retailer that pivoted from PC wholesaling to a multichannel, direct-to-consumer business focused on custom PC builds, a boutique store and a Magento-based ecommerce channel. Their legacy inventory system (Exchequer Enterprise) was built for wholesale, forced cumbersome item-coding instead of serial tracking, crashed frequently, and made returns, quoting and stocktakes slow and error-prone.
Playtech adopted Cin7, collaborating on its development, to gain full serial-number tracking, Pick’n’Pack workflows and cloud-based visibility integrated with their online store and in-store sales. The change eliminated paper stocktakes, cut administration and inventory shrinkage, simplified custom-quote and kit pricing, and improved margins and operational agility — allowing Playtech to sell efficiently online, in-store and at expos.
