Childsmart is a family-run Australian distributor of children’s products that grew through face-to-face relationships with independent retailers. As ecommerce, retail consolidation and changing buying patterns shifted orders to online channels and smaller quantities, their spreadsheet-based processes and MYOB Exo system strained sales, fulfillment and warehouse operations, forcing a rethink of how they engaged customers and processed orders.

In early 2018 Childsmart moved to Cin7 and Xero and outsourced warehousing to a 3PL, using Cin7’s built-in EDI and channel integrations to handle orders electronically. The result: a single, streamlined order review process that feeds the 3PL for pick‑pack‑ship, a leaner operation with a tighter product range, improved efficiency and productivity, and renewed focus on the most profitable retail channels.
