The Winery is a Queenstown, New Zealand specialty retailer and ecommerce business (selling ~850 wines to 40+ countries) that combines brick-and-mortar tasting rooms with online sales. By 2016 they had outgrown a DOS-based POS and inventory system that required manual entry up to four times, couldn’t integrate with their growing website, and made tracking vintages and stock across channels error-prone and time-consuming—just as the busy summer season approached.

They implemented Cin7 in November 2016 to centralize inventory, integrate BigCommerce, Xero, Starshipit and shipping, and automate order flow and stock transfers. The cloud-based solution eliminated duplicate data entry, enabled time-based reporting and PO creation, supported a second store and D2C site, improved forecasting and cash‑flow control, and kept the business running smoothly during Covid—saving time, reducing errors, and making Cin7 the operational hub.
