Retail centre saves big with cinema tenant water leak detection

A large Queensland retail centre was working with CIM to use their PEAK Platform to validate water meter readings for tenant recharging when they identified a significant issue. Their challenge was to address potential leaks and improve water efficiency across their property, including with a major cinema tenant that was found to have an abnormally high overnight water consumption rate.

CIM's platform provided an alert that led the site team to discover and replace a faulty water meter. The new meter then detected a major continuous leak caused by a fault in the cinema's cooling system. After the tenant was alerted and fixed the leak, it resulted in substantial cost savings; the daily water cost dropped from a fault rate of $333 to just $72.65, saving the tenant over four times the amount per day.
