Preview of the Leading Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Company Case Study

Digitised, Smarter Building Operations with PEAK

Leading Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Company, a world‑leading producer of active pharmaceutical ingredients and biologics, was struggling with stagnating energy reduction initiatives, limited connectivity across multiple systems (BMS, EMS, CDA, N2, wastewater, etc.), reactive maintenance, constrained people/capital/time, and corporate Net‑Zero targets. To unlock “dark” system data, reduce Opex, and improve uptime and compliance, they engaged CIM and its PEAK platform to bring visibility and actionable insights to their highly regulated facilities.

CIM deployed the PEAK building analytics platform (now across 12 sites since 2019) together with remote engineering support to commission 1,000 points and monitor 191 pieces of equipment, with a typical 4‑week onboard time. The solution delivered measurable results: 4 GWh saved, 1,200 tCO2e avoided, a 10x ROI within 12 months, and site highlights such as Building One identifying €91,700 in six months and Building Two achieving €62,000 in Year 1 (spotlight Building 2: 2x ROI, 170 tCO2 saved, 75+ issues identified, €32,000 in six months). CIM’s PEAK also improved uptime, GMP compliance, contractor accountability and operator efficiency.
