Playtech, a software provider for online gaming operators, needed a new development center because it lacked qualified resources in its existing locations in Estonia, Bulgaria, and Israel. Recruitment was too slow for the pace of the business, so it looked for a nearshore Own Development Center in a location with strong technical talent, good English, and close access to its European and Israel offices. Playtech chose Ciklum in Kyiv for this purpose.

Ciklum set up Playtech’s development center in Kyiv in August 2011 and provided an own development center team responsible for main product development, new projects, and ongoing work on existing products. After six months of close evaluation, Playtech said the results were stunning: work was delivered on time, quality was high, and feedback from Estonia, Bulgaria, and Israel was positive. By the end of 2011 the Kyiv team had grown to about 50 people, and Playtech planned to reach 200 by the end of 2012 and 500 overall.
