Big Tech Company asked Ciklum to build an indoor augmented reality navigation experience for Tango-based device users. The project needed to support public places such as museums, restaurants, and offices, with users trained and sent to locations to create the maps. The work was planned in three stages: indoor map creation, a cloud pipeline for processing and delivering maps, and a navigation app for end users.

Ciklum assigned a team of 4 engineers and delivered the solution over 24 months, including testing and final documentation. The team added analytics, 3D reconstruction, Google Maps and Google Analytics integration, cloud integration, and support for Android devices, while focusing on maintainability and user experience. At handoff, only one Ciklum engineer was needed for app maintenance, and the documentation allowed Big Tech Company’s engineers to expand features and maintain the code base.
