A Ciena Case Study
The Town of Dryden partnered with Ciena to address a major rural broadband gap affecting residents, businesses, schools, and public services. Like many rural communities, Dryden needed reliable high-speed internet to support economic development, remote work, education, and healthcare, but building a profitable fiber network on its own was a challenge.
Ciena helped the Town of Dryden and HUNT-EAS design a municipally owned fiber-to-the-home network using its Universal Aggregation (UA) solution, which supports both active Ethernet and PON and is built to scale for future needs. The result is a future-proof broadband platform that can expand to 400G, support residential and business services, and evolve toward services like private 5G and wholesale mobile backhaul, giving Dryden a flexible foundation for long-term growth.
