Summit Broadband Launches 400Gb/s Waves Service for Florida Businesses with Ciena

Summit Broadband, a fiber-optics telecommunications provider in Florida, faced rising demand for bandwidth from enterprise customers driven by cloud computing and video streaming. To meet this need for high capacity and scalability, they partnered with Ciena to launch a new 400Gb/s wavelength service.

Ciena implemented its WaveLogic 5 Extreme (WL5e) technology on Summit Broadband's existing infrastructure. This solution allowed the provider to transmit more data per unit of energy, delivering capex and opex savings while also supporting its sustainability goals by reducing its carbon footprint. The network is managed by Ciena's Navigator Network Control Suite, providing end-to-end visibility and simplifying operations.
