Iron Mountain extends DCI to 95% of the Fortune 1000 with Ciena

Iron Mountain, a global leader in data center and colocation services, needed to interconnect its facilities to help enterprise and cloud operator customers scale their footprint and establish efficient connectivity. To address this challenge, Iron Mountain launched its Metro Wave network services suite and partnered with vendor Ciena for a data center interconnect solution.

Ciena implemented its Waveserver Ai and 6500 platforms managed by its MCP software, enabling Iron Mountain to deliver optical capacities up to 100G with ultra-low latency. This Ciena solution provided a tremendous competitive edge by allowing Iron Mountain to extend its customers' reach to their own customers, partners, and cloud providers, moving beyond basic colocation services.
