Acessoline Telecom (ALT), a telecommunications provider in Chapecó, Brazil, needed to manage rapidly rising bandwidth demand from work-from-home activity and streaming while also facing pressure from customers to deliver more capacity at the same cost. To address this challenge, ALT turned to Ciena and its Waveserver Ai compact interconnect platform to modernize its network and improve cost efficiency.

With Ciena’s coherent optical solution, ALT increased capacity from 100Gbps to 400Gbps, delivering four times more bandwidth at a lower cost per bit. The upgrade helped cut capex in half, reduced hardware, power, and fiber requirements, and lowered total cost of ownership while enabling ALT to operate more efficiently and scale its network more effectively.
