Acronym, an information and communications technology company, faced the challenge of modernizing its 100Gbps optical transport network to support customer demands for higher performance, advanced data services, and cloud applications. The company needed a solution that could deliver speeds of 400Gbps and above with low latency, while also integrating multiple functions into a single platform for operational efficiency. They selected a coherent optical solution from Ciena to address these needs.

Ciena implemented a solution using its WaveLogic 5 and WaveLogic Ai coherent optics over a 6500 photonic system, managed by its MCP domain controller. This provided Acronym with a high-capacity, programmable infrastructure that consolidated network functions. The result was a more than four-fold capacity increase, allowing Acronym to quickly deliver reliable, high-speed services of 400Gbps and beyond with minimal delay to support its customers' digital transformations.
