Ottawa Public Library launches a WCAG-compliant 360° virtual tour with Cicada Design

The Ottawa Public Library, in partnership with Library and Archives Canada, faced the challenge of communicating the vision for their new Ādisōke Central Library to the community and stakeholders during the schematic design phase. They engaged vendor Cicada Design to provide animation, CG rendering, and visual media services to help bring the innovative architectural project to life.

Cicada Design created highly detailed, photorealistic imagery and videos, and developed an immersive, WCAG-compliant 360-degree virtual tour. This comprehensive visual solution allowed residents to actively participate in the design process by responding to realistic representations of the future space, fostering a strong sense of community ownership. The work by Cicada Design was so effective that they were subsequently hired to create additional content directly for the Ottawa Public Library and Library and Archives Canada to convey their mission to their audiences.
