Museum of Literature Ireland launches a 14-style custom typeface with CI Studio

The Museum of Literature Ireland (MoLI) needed to create a name and brand identity for its new museum that possessed gravitas while simultaneously subverting the seriousness of literature to feel accessible and engaging for all ages. They partnered with vendor CI Studio to develop this new brand.

CI Studio developed the name MoLI, inspired by Joyce's character Molly Bloom, and created a comprehensive identity system. This included a vibrant color palette, a custom typeface (MoLI Deckard), and a logo that subtly incorporates James Joyce's glasses. The solution successfully established MoLI as a friendly, unique, and iconic cultural destination in Dublin upon its opening in 2019. The museum's director praised CI Studio's professionalism and talent, noting they could not have imagined a better outcome and continue to work with the vendor to grow the brand.
