Nubank, a major digital bank in Latin America, sought to offer insurance to its over 40 million users. A survey revealed that while 70% of customers were interested in life insurance, only 20% had an active policy. Partnering with Chubb, Nubank wanted to leverage its customer data to provide accessible, embedded coverage that would differentiate its services and build deeper customer loyalty.
Chubb utilized its Chubb Studio technology and API integration to build personalized insurance products seamlessly into the Nubank app. The solution included dynamic pricing sliders and coverage recommendations based on individual customer data. This partnership was a major success for Chubb and Nubank, selling over 150,000 life insurance policies in the first month and generating over $18 million in gross written premiums. It also resulted in a net promoter score of 95 and helped create more than 70,000 new Nubank accounts.
