A Chronus Case Study
The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) runs a global eMentoring program that connects volunteer industry professionals with students and young professionals—many in remote locations—with career guidance. SPE’s decade-old, in-house platform made it hard to find good matches (mentees lacked profiles) and forced mentors and mentees to communicate by scattered email threads, limiting scalability and increasing administrative burden.
SPE implemented Chronus mentoring software, migrating its history into a single, user-friendly system with comprehensive profiles, automated communications, built-in surveys and easy admin controls. The new platform enabled better matches, more engaged mentors and mentees, faster reporting and less admin time; as a result the program grew participation by 33% (2014–2016) and benefitted from responsive Chronus support.
