Paychex’s High-Potential Mentoring Elevates Women Leaders

Paychex, a provider of payroll, HR and benefits solutions with women making up 60% of its workforce, launched a Women in Leadership initiative to build a stronger pipeline of female leaders. The biggest challenge was matching high‑potential women with the right mentors and getting clear, actionable reporting and resources to drive job‑band progression and retention across the organization.

Paychex selected Chronus for its MatchIQ matching algorithm, simple user experience and admin dashboard to streamline matching, program management and impact reporting. Within two years the mentoring program helped increase women in leadership by 3%, produced a 94% retention rate for participants (about 14% above the company average), made mentees 12% more likely to change position and 7% more likely to change job band, and showed strong goal achievement and satisfaction among participants.
