Georgetown Alumni Association Creates Networking Program through Chronus Mentor

Georgetown University Alumni Association (GUAA) created Hoya Gateway, a flash-mentoring program that connects students with alumni for one-time career conversations (mock interviews, resume reviews, informational interviews, job shadowing). Facing limited staff and budget, GUAA needed a customizable, scalable, volunteer-driven platform that could produce hundreds of city-wide connections, provide reliable matching and calendaring, and generate easy-to-read reports for stakeholders.

GUAA selected Chronus Mentor and worked with Chronus to build a branded, configurable solution with a powerful matching algorithm, online calendaring, meeting-capacity controls, LinkedIn import, and reporting tools. Launched in five cities across nine industries, the program quickly scaled—registering over 1,500 students and 750 alumni in year one (2,250+ participants overall), earning a CASE Gold award, strong alumni endorsement, measurable engagement metrics, and demonstrable student career outcomes.
