O’Shea Builders, a leading Illinois commercial construction firm founded in 1902, needed a way to preserve “The O’Shea Way” as the company expanded into new locations. Tess Fyalka, Director of Employee Development and Engagement, identified gaps in onboarding and career development — paper-based processes couldn’t scale or drive ownership of goals — and sought a modern mentoring solution to deliver consistent training and replicate proven systems across the growing organization.

O’Shea implemented Chronus mentoring software to power a two-part program: a structured onboarding sequence that centralizes documents and training, followed by “Player Development,” a coach–player career development program with individualized goals. The Chronus platform provided a branded interface, customizable workflows, detailed profiles, and trackable progress; the rollout achieved 100% user satisfaction with 83% “Very Satisfied,” and O’Shea plans to expand the program companywide.
