Case Study: DoSomething.org eliminates geographic barriers to youth mentoring with Chronus Mentor

A Chronus Case Study

Chronus helps DoSomething.org do something for passionate youth

DoSomething.org is a youth-focused nonprofit that motivates teens to lead social change. Its Consulting Program selects promising young activists and pairs them with American Express employee mentors for three-month coaching relationships, but as the program scaled (240 participants in 2011) the organization found its existing software couldn’t support long-distance mentoring or a thriving online community.

DoSomething.org adopted Chronus Mentor to manage matches, communications, and community features; the platform’s Skype integration proved especially valuable. Within the first cohort using Chronus, geographic barriers were minimized, mentoring sessions improved in quality, and participants formed stronger, longer-lasting connections.
