A Chrome River Case Study

Dealer Tire® partners with U.S. Bank® and Chrome River to give its outdated paper expense reporting process the boot

Dealer Tire, a family‑owned Cleveland-based distributor serving more than 10,000 dealerships and 20+ OEMs, faced a cumbersome paper travel-and-expense process that required manual entry, taped receipts and FedEx routing. Needing a solution that would support domestic and international travel, B2B field spend and provide better visibility and control as the business expanded, the company set out to replace its manual workflows with an automated, integrated system.

Dealer Tire implemented an integrated U.S. Bank One Card and Chrome River EXPENSE solution—phased in with a pilot—featuring daily transaction feeds, STATEMENTS matching, OCR receipt capture, mobile uploads and a single expense report per statement plus an ad hoc reconciliation report. The rollout cut monthly expense-reporting time by about 50%, eliminated FedEx and paper costs, improved compliance and analytics, boosted the cardholder experience, and freed staff to focus on higher‑value work while achieving a best‑in‑class employee-to-card ratio and strong usage rates.
