A Chrome River Case Study
Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, which manages travel for about 20,000 employees, was losing control of corporate bookings because its legacy tools were clunky, lacked mobile access and didn’t sync with expense reporting. Employees were turning to consumer apps, creating compliance gaps, delayed visibility into spending, and an administrative burden for travel managers and finance teams.
Partnering with Sabre’s GetThere and Chrome River, Anthem launched a mobile-first, integrated booking-and-expense platform that syncs trips (including rideshare and corporate-card transactions) to real-time expense reports, supports bulk attendee uploads and budget alerts, and works across devices. The rollout drove adoption of the preferred system, improved spend transparency and policy compliance, sped reimbursements, reduced manual work, and produced data that enabled smarter vendor negotiations.
