Preview of the Coogee Chemicals Case Study

Coogee Chemicals creates Australia’s first storage tank projection mapping with Christie Digital’s 36,500-lumen Griffyn 4K35-RGB

Coogee Chemicals, an Australian chemical manufacturer, sought to transform a newly built fuel storage tank into a public art installation to engage its local community in Kwinana. The challenge was to find a high-brightness projection solution capable of turning the curved surface of a large industrial tank into a vibrant, dynamic canvas. To achieve this, they worked with vendor Christie Digital and selected the Christie Griffyn 4K35-RGB pure laser projector for the project.

Christie Digital implemented its Griffyn 4K35-RGB projector, chosen for its native 4K resolution, high brightness, and ability to reproduce lifelike colors on an unconventional curved surface. The result was a spectacular projection mapping display that showcases curated artwork from local artists every night. The project successfully repurposed the utilitarian tank into a beacon of storytelling, creating a significant "wow" factor for thousands of commuters and fostering immense community pride. This initiative by Christie Digital and Coogee Chemicals has set a new precedent for industrial creativity and strengthened ties with the local community.
