A ChinaCache Case Study
Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), a division of the American Chemical Society, needed a way to enter the Chinese market and deliver scientific data with high performance and availability. As a U.S. company, it had to navigate Chinese regulations to obtain an Internet Content Provider (ICP) license, reach academic users on CERNET, and overcome local peering issues that affected coverage and latency across China.
ChinaCache guided CAS through the ICP licensing process, enabled direct access to CERNET, and used its network and routing technology to improve delivery across China. As a result, CAS achieved 100% availability, traffic in China grew by 20%, and performance improved 22.7%, while customers gained access to critical information when they needed it.
