New York State Police improves efficiency and responsiveness

The New York State Police Fleet Management Section, responsible for 4,900 vehicles across 160 locations, faced inefficient, fragmented operations driven by a 25-year-old mainframe system. With nine regional shops and a need for better policy oversight, compliance monitoring and accessible data, NYSP sought a single web-based solution to consolidate processes previously split between its legacy system and internal messaging tools.

NYSP selected Chevin’s FleetWave (go-live January 2009) to centralize preventive maintenance, repairs, vehicle orders and transfers, upfitting, fuel tracking, contract management and accident oversight. FleetWave improved system access, data visibility and responsiveness, increased efficiency and accountability, and supports mandatory reporting for multiple NYSP sections and external agencies.
