Relativity, a leading e-discovery provider used by over 13,000 organizations and 160,000 users worldwide, needed to launch RelativityOne and a self-service portal at its 2016 conference while moving a complex on-premises footprint to the cloud. The company faced 62 disparate environments and 995 servers with no consistent configuration, long environment setup times, and a need to accelerate development velocity and reduce operational overhead.

Relativity built RelativityOne on Microsoft Azure and implemented Chef Automate (with InSpec) for infrastructure-as-code, bringing in 10th Magnitude to add Test Kitchen, CI pipelines, and integration tooling. The result was faster, repeatable provisioning and deployment, dramatic reductions in setup time, troubleshooting, and costs, near-100% environment availability, and broad adoption across teams—enabling higher productivity and continued product innovation.
