Northern Lights College launches a FIPPA-compliant CLIMB Centre with Cheeky Monkey Media

Northern Lights College, a post-secondary institution in British Columbia, needed to create a user-friendly WordPress microsite for its CLIMB Centre. The challenge was to build a site capable of collecting sensitive user data through custom surveys while strictly adhering to provincial privacy legislation (FIPPA). This data was to be shared with research partners for a project supporting mid-career workers.

Cheeky Monkey Media developed a custom solution hosted on the UBC EduCloud server to meet all privacy requirements. They built several custom WordPress plugins from scratch, including a RIASEC test and an administrative interface for self-managing surveys, and created a secure system for daily data exports. The project was a success, with the client praising the transformative experience and the website's ability to collect more data than initially imagined. Cheeky Monkey Media delivered a secure, robust, and highly functional portal that was the first public-facing site hosted on the EduCloud platform.
