Zètema protects Rome’s heritage from cyber threats with Check Point

Zètema Progetto Cultura is the in-house cultural services department of the Municipality of Rome, connecting 850 employees across more than 20 museums and public venues and responsible for protecting vast amounts of visitor and institutional data. With only two IT staff, Zètema needed to replace a complex, multi-vendor firewall environment and implement integrated web filtering, network segmentation and centralized security management to safeguard the city’s cultural heritage.

Zètema deployed Check Point SandBlast Network and the R80.20 security management platform, bringing next‑generation threat prevention, sandboxing, threat extraction, application control, URL filtering and SmartEvent logging into a single console. The result: IT efficiency improved by 50%, security policy and events are managed from one view, routine tasks are automated, response times to critical events dropped, and the organization gained much clearer visibility into detected and blocked threats.
