A Check Point Software Case Study
Xero, the Wellington-based cloud accounting platform for small businesses, faced a major infrastructure and security challenge as it outgrew a premises-based environment. The company needed to migrate to a public cloud without compromising security or slowing rapid DevOps-driven innovation, while meeting international compliance and availability requirements.
Working with AWS and Check Point, Xero implemented CloudGuard IaaS and R80 security management across a Transit VPC-style AWS architecture, deploying 130 gateways across 100 accounts and using micro-segmentation and automation to embed security into development workflows. In nine months Xero moved 700,000 customers, 59 billion records and $1 trillion in transactions to a secure, fully managed AWS environment, cut service costs, improved availability, automated compliance, and transformed security into an enabler of developer speed and self-service.
