University of Bergamo secures segmented networks with Check Point

The University of Bergamo, an Italian public university serving 25,000 students across 20 sites, faced the challenge of protecting sensitive student and staff data while simplifying management of a large, highly segmented network and streamlining the end‑user experience — all with a very small IT team responsible for GDPR compliance.

By deploying Check Point Quantum NGFW appliances and endpoint protections (Harmony Endpoint/SandBlast Agent) the university centralized security management, implemented network segmentation, and added application control, anti‑bot, anti‑spyware and antivirus defenses. The outcome was a single platform to manage multiple networks, stronger security with fewer incidents, faster log analysis and the ability for just two IT staff to efficiently secure the campus.
