Uganda Revenue Authority Chooses Check Point To Secure A Vision For The Future

The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) is responsible for assessing, collecting and accounting for government revenue across roughly 80 locations and some 2,800 endpoints. As the agency pursued digital transformation it found its perimeter firewalls and antivirus-only approach left limited visibility, poor reporting and troubleshooting, and no high-availability security—putting transaction integrity, partner connections and operational continuity at risk.

URA deployed Check Point Quantum Security Gateways, Check Point Harmony Endpoint and an Infinity Enterprise License Agreement, with session failover, VPN connectivity and the Infinity Portal (with AD integration) as a single management console. The implementation ensured high availability and uninterrupted transactions during failover, automated much of attack detection and remediation (about 90%), delivered centralized visibility into endpoints and emerging threats, and significantly simplified management, logging and reporting.
