TDC Song Securely Carries Customer Telecommunications in Tune to VPN-1 VSX

TDC Song is a leading Nordic telecom operator that provides IP VPN and Internet services across Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark. After joining the larger TDC Group, the company faced a backend consolidation challenge: too many physical gateways and vendors, a small regional IT staff, and the need to offer easy-to-adjust, customer-specific security policies while leveraging existing infrastructure and manpower.

TDC Song selected Check Point VPN-1 VSX with ClusterXL to virtualize and consolidate multiple physical gateways onto a single platform. Rolled out from pilots in 2004 to production in 2005, the solution enabled per-customer management, supported many protocols out of the box, allowed off-site configuration to cut operating costs, and synchronized policies across gateways to reduce configuration errors—while meeting diverse regulatory needs across the Nordic region.
