Starkey Hearing Technologies Amplifies Visibility into Advanced Threats

Starkey Hearing Technologies, a world leader in hearing-aid design and manufacturing, faced repeated advanced malware and ransomware attacks that infected 2,000 machines in about two weeks and produced three to four incidents per week. With mobile users taking laptops off-network and PCI compliance requirements to meet, Starkey needed stronger protection, better visibility into incidents, and a solution that wouldn’t add heavy management overhead.

Starkey deployed Check Point SandBlast Agent—including Threat Emulation, Automated Forensics, and SmartEvent logging—on 4,000 systems across 34 facilities to protect endpoints both on- and off‑premises. The solution blocked ransomware (zero incidents in almost a year), improved threat visibility (uncovering hidden risks such as a malicious Pinyin tool), accelerated remediation, consolidated logs for easier review, and saved the IT team up to a day and a half per incident.
