A Check Point Software Case Study
A global asset management firm with roughly $620 billion under management and more than 19 million clients worldwide needed greater agility for developers and secure, consistent protection as it moved to a VMware NSX private cloud. The team’s goals were to micro-segment and protect applications whether on-premises or in the cloud, simplify private cloud security management, and gain visibility and lateral threat prevention for internal (east‑west) traffic without disrupting existing data center protections.
They deployed Check Point vSEC for VMware NSX and integrated it with their existing R80 management, converting physical gateways to vSEC instances and automating traffic redirection by assigning resources to security groups. The NSX environment was secured rapidly (under an hour) without external help, yielding single‑pane management, consistent policies across physical and cloud environments, granular micro-segmentation, improved traffic visibility and lateral threat prevention, and measurable ROI from extending existing protections.
