A Check Point Software Case Study
RheinMain University of Applied Sciences, a German university with five campuses serving about 13,000 students, needed to strengthen IT security to protect student and staff personal data. The university sought a more proactive and transparent defense against modern threats, a robust VPN for remote access, a firewall able to handle large internal traffic (e.g., video exchanges), and centralized management across distributed locations.
In partnership with systems integrator SVA, RheinMain deployed Check Point Next Generation Threat Prevention and Endpoint Remote Access with centralized SmartDashboard management. The rollout provided scalable, high-throughput firewalling, secure VPN access from any network, user-specific rules and application filtering, improved proactive security, and reliable clustered operation across the university’s key sites.
