A Check Point Software Case Study
MTN Nigeria, part of the MTN Group and one of Africa’s largest mobile operators, needed to protect critical national infrastructure and its largest corporate customers while maintaining service availability. The company faced constant attacks—malware, phishing, ICMP floods, URL attacks, ransomware and application‑layer threats—and wanted to simplify management across an evolving cybersecurity landscape.
MTN deployed Check Point’s modular 61000 chassis solution together with Harmony Endpoint and SandBlast (Threat Emulation and Threat Extraction) to consolidate firewall, IPS and anti‑malware into a single, high‑performance platform (up to 180 Gbps). The rollout delivered improved visibility and stability, reduced management costs, clarified a roadmap for automation and cloud integration, and provided the scale to onboard up to 50 hosted customers in six months.
