A Check Point Software Case Study
MidCoast Council, a local government organization in New South Wales serving about 95,000 residents across 195 localities, faced the challenge of unifying security after a merger brought together three city councils and a water and wastewater utility. With multiple IT environments, multivendor tools, and disparate processes, the council needed Check Point Software and its Infinity Platform to quickly secure critical infrastructure while building a longer-term, consistent security strategy.
Check Point Software implemented the Infinity architecture with Quantum Security Gateways, Quantum Lightspeed, Harmony Endpoint, and Infinity MDR/MPR, giving MidCoast Council single-pane-of-glass visibility and 24x7x365 monitoring. The rollout consolidated security across data centers, endpoints, and remote sites with no downtime, improved protection and throughput, and helped the council advance its security maturity under the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s Essential Eight framework.
