A Check Point Software Case Study
Unisys, a global technology solutions firm, partnered with California State University (CSU)—the largest U.S. university system with 23 campuses, nearly half a million students and 56,000 staff—to secure and scale a complex cloud footprint. CSU’s PeopleSoft environment contains 9 million PII records and the university was rapidly rolling out APIs and microservices across AWS and Azure, creating visibility, configuration and access-control risks that demanded a cloud-native application protection platform (CNAPP).
Unisys deployed Check Point CloudGuard CNAPP—using Security Posture Management, Workload Protection and Infrastructure Entitlement Management—to deliver cloud-agnostic visibility, automated governance, continuous vulnerability scanning and least‑privilege access. The solution provided tailored dashboards, continuous compliance monitoring against NIST 800-53 and ISO 27001, full asset visibility and ongoing threat prevention, achieving over 99% compliance and enabling CSU’s secure cloud expansion with simpler, more effective security operations.
