A Check Point Software Case Study
Singapore Advanced Research and Education Network (SingAREN) is Singapore’s national research-and-education backbone, connecting universities, research institutes, the National Supercomputing Centre and partners with 10–100 Gbps links and member organizations across the region. The society faced the challenge of securing extremely high-volume, complex data transfers (for example, the NEA moved more than 4 PB of climate data) without degrading throughput, while improving visibility and stopping threats that could enter via diverse member devices and institutional networks.
SingAREN’s stakeholders formed a cybersecurity special interest group and selected Check Point Quantum Maestro for hyperscale network security, AI-driven threat intelligence and HyperSync-enabled DMZs, configured to handle the society’s maximum throughput. The deployment delivered comprehensive visibility into incoming and outgoing threats, enabled shared threat intelligence and log extraction, and restored member trust—while SingAREN plans to expand features (Threat Intelligence, Horizon MDR/MPR and MISP exports) to further strengthen prevention and remediation.
