How Bella Vista POA Identifies and Stops Business Email Compromise Attacks in Real-Time

Bella Vista Property Owners Association (BVPOA) is a private, member-based recreational community in Bella Vista, Arkansas, managing amenities across 36,000 acres with about 50 employees. The organization was targeted by sophisticated business email compromise (BEC) attacks that bypassed existing email defenses and put financial transactions and sensitive data at risk.

During a proof-of-concept deployment of Check Point’s Harmony Email and Collaboration, the platform’s AI-driven analysis detected an active machine-in-the-middle BEC attack and flagged a fraudulent invoice, allowing BVPOA’s accounting team to stop a $144,000 payment minutes before it went through. Harmony now automates monitoring, secures email and collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint), integrates via APIs, and reduces manual effort while improving detection and prevention of future phishing and data-loss incidents.
