Fondazione Telethon Supports Its Mission with Added Protection

Fondazione Telethon, an Italian nonprofit that funds research into rare genetic diseases, needed to protect large volumes of sensitive research and medical data and preserve its reputation. Escalating cyber threats—especially email attacks—made better perimeter protection, improved visibility for incident analysis, and uninterrupted business continuity urgent priorities.

Via partner Grafidata, Telethon deployed Check Point Next Generation Threat Prevention virtual appliances and Software Blades (firewall, IPS, URL filtering, VPN, later adding application control, anti‑bot and antivirus). The virtualized, hardware‑independent setup delivered integrated edge-to-core protection, centralized dashboards for real‑time visibility and easier management, scalable performance with no downtime, and improved threat prevention, incident analysis and overall ROI.
