Family Assurance uses Pointsec Protector to underpin FAST accreditation

Family Assurance, the UK’s largest tax-exempt friendly society with more than 500,000 members and over £1.5bn under management, needed to protect employee and corporate data across a large PC estate and achieve FAST accreditation for software compliance. The primary challenge was preventing unmanaged user access, removable-media data leaks and virus-infected or unlicensed software from compromising network and data integrity.

Family Assurance deployed Pointsec Protector to scan and sign incoming media, block unauthorized file types and centrally manage user- and group-based security policies. The rollout made it difficult for staff to introduce malware or copy unsafe data, supported the society’s FAST accreditation goals, strengthened data protection compliance and reduced virus and software‑compliance risks while keeping systems operating efficiently.
