Denbighshire County Council Selects Eventia Suite to Simplify Security Management

Denbighshire County Council, the local authority in North Wales serving about 93,000 residents and providing leased-line Internet to 66 schools and libraries, faced a growing security-management burden. Its firewalls and other devices produced roughly 1GB of log data per day, making routine security health checks and proactive threat detection difficult for a small IT team.

The council deployed Check Point’s Eventia Analyzer and Eventia Reporter, integrated with its existing VPN-1 Power NGX firewalls and centralized management, to aggregate, correlate and prioritize logs in a central SIEM. The suite was quick to implement, reduced the volume of data requiring review, automated alerting and reporting, saved roughly two days of administration per month, and improved the team’s ability to detect and respond to security issues while providing a scalable, centrally managed security foundation.
