A Check Point Software Case Study
CRIF is an Italy-based provider of value-added solutions and information services for the financial sector, serving more than 1,900 institutions with about 1,450 staff. Facing a company-wide push to virtualize its infrastructure, CRIF needed to simplify security and management, reduce costs and resource waste, guarantee high reliability and protection, gain transaction/application visibility, and ensure the security architecture could scale with future virtualization.
CRIF deployed Check Point VSX virtual appliances alongside clustered UTM-1 appliances with software blades (AntiVirus, IPS, URL Filtering), Eventia Log Analyzer and centralized multi-domain management to unify control of mixed virtual/physical environments. The solution delivered centralized real-time and historical visibility, easier administration, strong performance and reliability across a growing (up to ~1,200 servers) farm, reduced costs through virtualization, and freed IT resources to focus on strategic initiatives like business continuity.
