Community Newspaper Group Gives Threats Nowhere to Hide

Community Newspaper Group (CNG), publisher of 17 regional newspapers and websites in Western Australia serving over 700,000 readers, needed near-zero downtime to protect revenue and meet real-time publishing demands. Its aging Trend Micro and Microsoft endpoint defenses provided poor visibility, required juggling multiple dashboards, and missed sophisticated threats such as phishing and ransomware, forcing time-consuming manual investigations.

CNG deployed Check Point SandBlast Agent with Threat Emulation and Forensics alongside a Check Point 4600 appliance, using cloud-based sandboxing, SSL inspection and a centralized SmartCenter console. The two-week rollout uncovered and blocked numerous advanced threats the previous solution missed, automated incident forensics to save significant time, reduced infections with minimal impact on user performance, and improved overall endpoint security and visibility.
