A Check Point Software Case Study
Optix, a U.K. provider of cloud-based practice management software for more than 800 opticians, faced growing security and compliance challenges: SSL was no longer sufficient to protect patient, clinical and payment data, and Optix needed a way to give each client a secure VPN connection while simplifying the management of hundreds of customer appliances without adding overhead or IT visits.
Optix deployed Check Point Small Business (700) Appliances and the Check Point Security Management Portal, using zero-touch pre-configuration and a web-based central console to provision, monitor and update devices remotely. The solution delivered enterprise-grade firewall, VPN, IPS and URL filtering across the customer base, ensured secure connections for 800+ practices, reduced management time and costs, and minimized required expertise—giving Optix and its clients greater confidence and operational efficiency.
