Canal Bank, a Panama-based commercial bank with about 350 employees and branches across nine provinces, needed to protect sensitive financial data as it moved services to the cloud and implemented a new core banking system. Executives required a cloud-ready solution to secure Microsoft Office 365 users and defend against phishing, malware, ransomware and other threats while preserving application integrity.
Working with partner Soluciones Seguras, Canal Bank deployed Check Point CloudGuard SaaS (Check Point Harmony email & office), a fast-to-configure cloud service that provides real-time threat prevention and visibility. The solution blocked roughly 1,400 phishing attempts and about 800 malware attacks, cleans malicious attachments, surfaces shadow IT, and consolidated security with advanced monitoring and reporting to enable rapid problem solving.
