Cadence Uses CloudGuard Dome9 for Robust Security Across Its Multi-cloud Environment

Cadence Design Systems, a Silicon Valley EDA leader with 8,000+ employees and a global footprint, moved core workloads to a multi-cloud environment (50+ AWS accounts, 1,000+ instances, 770 security groups and thousands of network rules). That scale created three core challenges: gaining real-time visibility across complex, dynamic networks; enforcing fine-grained access controls while preserving user flexibility; and producing continuous compliance reporting for customers and auditors.

Cadence implemented Check Point CloudGuard Dome9 to address these needs—using Clarity for granular network visualization, Active Protection (Dynamic Access Leases, Tamper Protection, Region Lock) for automated enforcement of access and regional policies, and the Compliance Engine for continuous reporting. The result was centralized, automated security and compliance across AWS, Azure and GCP, faster incident response, and operational savings (about $450K annually) from reduced staffing and training overhead.
