Botswana Power Corporation (BPC), the national electricity provider, needed to modernize security across a complex environment of premises, cloud, endpoints and OT systems as part of its digital transformation. Faced with rising cyber threats—Africa averages 1,848 attacks per week—and a remote, mobile workforce, BPC required better visibility, consistent policies, and easier measurement of compliance with NIST and ISO 27001 across more than 1,300 endpoints.
BPC deployed a Check Point security stack—Quantum Security Gateways, CloudGuard, Harmony Endpoint/Email/Mobile, Infinity SOC and Professional Services—to unify management and enforcement. The solution delivered single-pane-of-glass visibility, automated detection and remediation (Harmony automates ~90% of these tasks), SAP and cloud protection, and stronger compliance reporting; as a result, threats fell to almost zero and management gained clear, actionable security confidence.
